Earthcache Stippelberg

We visited the earth cache (GC10AXT - Stippelberg).
It brought us to the area Stippelberg.

The dogs loved this walk a lot.

Number 100: Pilgrimage Cache 2

After yesterday our cache counter showed 99 caches found, and therefore it was time for a special cache that would become our 100th cache. We picked the sequel to the one we found as 50th (GC101C4 - Bedevaartcache 2 - De Keurmeesters).

We started earlier than what's normal for us on a Sunday, but not as early as other people start to cache. We arrived at the start somewhat before 11:30.

For the first part we had to use pictures to find the way through a "maze" to reach the start of the first out of four different challenges we had to pass.

The challenge here was that the pictures were made the other way around and in another time of year.

But we managed to find the start of the first challenge although we didn't use all of the pictures.

So either we took a short-cut that we aren't aware of, or we missed to recognize some of the spots from the pictures while we passed them.

It was a very nice forest area that we were strolling around.

And the weather was good as well, a little bit chilly but dry and with a nice winter sun shining on our faces.

At some points we had to find a tag on a tree, to be able to find the information to continue to the next point.

We don't want to give away to much detail, since that would ruin the fun for future cachers.

One of the challenges we had to pass, asked a lot about our navigation skills and the knowledge of our GPS. I tried stuff that I didn't even know was possible with our GPS, but it brought us correct from point to point.

We passed a little sluice, and when the dogs hear water flowing they always get a little crazy.

Toby kept on barking at this point, later on we discovered why. What a good boy he is indeed.

And being a pilgrimage, we could say a prayer before Mary.

And at the end the reward of the cache. We left the first coin of ours, SchocoBearsFirst.

We logged it at 16:40 as our number 100 inside we found a TB.

We left two coins behind.

Chapel Heers

And because we had our 100th cache planned for tomorrow we had to find one more today. We decided that we would go for the 5th Chapel of a series of 7 (GC1DCK9 - POK - Heers). This one starts at a chapel that is a replica of a cave that used to be here on this spot.

Then we walked alongside a small river the Run.

We had to find three spots that contained a scent that we had to recognize.

With the found scents we could calculate the coordinates of the cache.

That we discovered and logged at 17:00, just before the sun went under.

With this cache we only need two more to complete that series. Our total is 99 now, ready for tomorrow to visit the 100th.

TB de Buizerd, Reusel

The second cache of the day was the second out of a series we started last week as well (GCTWE2 - TB5: De Buizerd). For this cache we first had to visit a spot where we found the next chapel.

Then we had to visit a spot where we had to answer some questions again.

Walk along a forest that we visited last week also for another cache, not knowing that we would be here again today.

And at the end we found the bird-house with a key-lock that we could unlock with the found answers.

We logged it at 14:45 as our #98.

8 Zaligheden, Hulsel

Today we started with the second cache out of a series of 8 (GCKYZV - 8 Zaligheden: Hulsel), we did the first one last week.
It was a walk over a shell-path.

We got the coordinates of the cache up-front, but we had to visit three way-points that contained something we needed.

At the first way-point we found a pole with a number on it. And so we did on the other way-points as well.

The doggies enjoyed the walk, and they could run freely on different spots.

After visiting the three way-points we visited the cache location and discovered what the number were for. On the cache-box a key-lock was present. But we could unlock it with the found numbers.

It was our #97 and we logged it at 13:00.

High Tech Campus

I'm working at a client that has it's main office on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven. Since my assignment with this client is ending real soon, I decided to start with the cache that is located at the High Tech Campus (GCRRN8 - High Tech Campus Cache). In one lunch break I visited all the way-points to find the answers to the questions.
At home I calculated the end-coordinates and today I wanted to check whether my calculations were correct. On my lunch-break I walked about 500 meters to the cache location and I actually discovered the cache-box.

I logged it at 13:10 and inside the box I discovered a black sheep Tb, that I exchanged with a coin. Next a picture with the sheep and our own black-sheep TB and our mascot a sheepdog.

Because another cache (GC11F5P - 10 van de Campus) was very close by almost on my way back to the office I picked up that one as well at 13:20.

Reusel

On Sunday we went for a cache in Reusel (GCKZ05 - 8 Zaligheden: Reusel), This was for us the first of a series of 8 caches plus a bonus cache about 8 small towns in the Kempen an area in our part of the country.

There were some parts where we had to figure out how to continue.

We passed by an earth cache (GCZCNW - De Reuselse Kei) it is a big rock brought in this area by a river a long long time ago.

And we continued our quest in sometimes beautiful sunny weather, although the weather forecast was rain.

We even passed by a little lake, with still a thin layer of ice on top. But Toby couldn't resist it anyhow.

At the end the reward of finding the cache, logged it at 16:15 and inside we found a TB, that we exchanged with a coin.

This makes our total of caches 94 after this weekend and we are heading for the 100 milestone.
